Description:
RESIDENCE LA PRAGUE APARTMENTS
(one of the most luxurious apartments in the heart of Prague)
The apartments are very light, quiet, and snug thanks to their large French windows that offer a wonderful view of the Franciscan Gardens and a beautiful historic church. The interiors and their magnificent marble bathrooms were designed by leading Italian designers.
The apartments have been designed in such a manner as to provide maximum comfort for up to 7 people each in two (three) separate rooms (each at the opposite end of the apartment) with a separate entrance. They are fully fitted with beautiful modern furniture, CD and DVD player, video telephone, refrigerator, dishwasher, glass-ceramic hob, coffee machine, cooking utensils, and so on. Security is ensured 24 hours a day by our reception and guard on the ground floor of the building. Apartments C3 and C4 are on the 3rd floor, while C5, C6 and A3 are on the 4th floor.
This building with lift is found right in the centre of Prague in Vodičková Street, a mere 15 metres from Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí), a fact which guarantees that all historic monuments are only a pleasant walk away. This is an ideal area of shopping zones, stylish restaurants, bars with a great atmosphere and live music, multi-screen cinemas that show films in English, and much more.
Prestigious Award of the European Union for - BUILDING OF THE YEAR 2003 -
Indeed this building acts as kind of a bridge between the historic links to old Prague and the modern trends of contemporary architecture.
The history and present of the building being also known as the Langhans house.
Jan Langhans was an internationally-active photographer and successful businessman who bought the house at No. 37 Vodičková Street in 1880. His photographic studio was one of the largest in Bohemia and Moravia and it was he who co-created Czech portrait photography. Hundreds of thousands of unknown and very famous people alike sat before the cameras of three generations of Langhans’ in the decades before nationalisation in 1948.
The building was returned to the family in the spring of 1991 as part of restitution measures and studies into the reconstruction of the building got underway immediately afterwards. The great-granddaughter of the founder of the enterprise then had the building reconstructed in line with the designs of a team of architects, with Ladislav Lábus (brother of very famous comic and film actor Jiří Lábus) at the helm, and the ambitious project began to take shape. Indeed the Langhans building acts a as kind of bridge between the historic links to old Prague and the modern trends of contemporary architecture.
